Camille Garcia
Hi Everyone! My name is Camille Garcia also known as “Cami” by the band mates, and I’m the newest member of the band. Let’s go back to December 3, 1981; I was born in Ponce in a little island called Puerto Rico. I lived in Puerto Rico till I was 8 and moved to Cleveland in 1990. Let’s rewind a little, before I moved to Cleveland I used to imitate famous singers for school events. I was 6 years old and it was awesome, I even had backup dancers, don’t ask I just did. I did not know English when I lived in Puerto Rico but I remember singing songs by Madonna and Whitney Houston even if I didn’t understand what I was singing. I thought I was so cool. My family, all five of us, moved to Cleveland to get better medical help for my brother who is mentally disabled. His name is Nelson; he is 19 and the youngest sibling. My sister Jisabelle, 21, is the middle child and currently attends Ohio University. Finally there’s me, 22, with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA) and the oldest child of Nelson and Carmen Garcia. I met the band a long time ago in 2000 when I attended a retreat at my church. They were the house band and I sang “On my knees” with them. Four retreats later Andy let me play his guitar and sing a song and then asked me if I wanted to be in the band. I’m not a good guitar player but I’m learning. He thought I was Mexican at first and about 15 years old but he still asked and I said “sure”. He asked me to meet with him at Frankie’s house for an audition, just to make sure I could hold a note. I asked my sister to come with me and when I get there I see Joel and Randy, which made me even more nervous. Andy asked me to sing any song so I sang a little bit of “Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera then he asked me, “do you know what a harmony is”. And I said “no” I bet Andy was mortified when I said that, but it all worked out in the end. I know what a harmony is I just can’t remember them all. My first recording ever was for our new CD “Consecrated” and it was a very cool experience I learned a lot from it. I always loved music so I hope I could keep singing for as long as God let’s me. I hope it’s for a long time. I hope you guys didn’t get bored reading my bio. Que Dios los bendiga!
Please write to me I would love to hear from you
